Taking it for the standalone fox has chosen for it to be, i loved it.
Between this and the buffy/angel comics i wonder at joss' new obsession with word annihilation but i must say i love the way he does it.
Amy Acker, brilliant as always, was made to play the crazy chick. Also fond of Topher's brand of insanity quite entertaining.
Can't remember the actors name but love seeing potential/laundrymat girl again,
im sure i have lots more to say but its 2am and i need to go to bed now. :)

yeah, exactly as a stand alone it was super but,....
im a bit concerned about season 2 .
So it starts out in the future all the time now ? .... im not to sure bout that.
and yeah, its really angel after the fall , in the beginning they reminded me of spikes girl gang.

Thought it was a great episode, although some people are hyping it a little too much and at the expense of other fine stories from the season. Maurissa and Jed's writing plus David Solomon's direction were all solid - the flash backs were easy to fllow and it fet of a piece with both the (excellent) unaired pilot Echo and BriarRose/Omega. Topher and Adelle's scene was unexpected and brilliant - and was it really truly them? I love that we can't be sure anymore just who Printy's been playing happy with. The child was good and apart from one Guildy-Laser Quest moment so was Felicia and i'm very happy that she might be back.
I don't understand peoples' concerns about the canon issue - it's canon since season 2 is building on it... but we only saw a small glimpse of what i'm sure could be a very big picture and in any case 90% of season 2 will be present day.
As for Joss Whedon's 'new concerns', they're really not - After the Fall's setting was planned before Angel 5 was shot and Buffy 8 has little or no apocalyptic feel beyond the eventual 'loss of magic', Frey (see? Old) and her dystopian future won;t happen over night.
I'm not sure the world needed yet another riff on Psycho's shower scene but, that aside, i liked Epitaph One a heck of a lot.

but you already have that sort of idea in angel season 4 ( Yasmine)
it#s not so much the apocaliptic stuff as joss coping with the idea of the world becoming one big collective thing /mind/ whatever , which to me has an touch aof apocalipse .
and that idea is also pretty much the concept of dollhouse ....
but where should it end if not the apocalyps it would be the happy ending and well .......

It was just a random comment but lets face it, he has blown up everything that mattered to the buffy-verse cannon. Library....sunnydale....LA okay so the last one didn't get blown up, but it got wrecked. not saying its an issue its just, when he is done he is done. Even apparently magick...???? (also have yet to read frey :( )

Fray is maybe Whedon's single best comic and i think you'd like it.

Enjoyed it immensely.
Will this be the new story arc? If so, they've given away far too much.
Would have been a good synopsis for any 1 - 2 season's worth of TV.
