Wiggsy, you play the piano? Good on you - Armond was a music major and plays beautifully, but I can't...

Oh, learn it, learn it... and tape yourself and let us hear!

I would like to smoke *sigh* only five cigarettes, tomorrow... I have bigger goals, but that's on my mind right at the moment...

im not very good but i taught myself how to play when i was little mostly b ear but i do know how to read sheet music and translate that into playing

All it takes is practice and time, Wigs. I once taught myself to play "Tubular Bells" (though I still needed the sheet music as I'm self-taught too) on our little organ, but I couldn't play it at my aunt's house who had the only piano cuz it was the devil's music.

wonderlandwiggins

if i really set my mind to it i could probably do it but i dont know if i have the patience and im better if someone will play it and then i mimmic what theyve done

cabri
04-19-2007, 04:40 AM
Do you mean seeing them do it or hearing them do it?

wonderlandwiggins
04-19-2007, 04:41 AM
both
if i watch there hands i can usually do what theyve done but i have to hear it too

Maybe you can find a DVD of a competition or concert at the library.

wonderlandwiggins
04-19-2007, 04:44 AM

whats something you want to do cabby

cabri

I need to start working out again, cuz I haven't since before the Mud Job. I blame the weather. And class. And anything else I can point a finger at. ;)

wonderlandwiggins

get one of the step machine things... at my grandparents house they have one with the pull thingys too it fun doing that one.

cabri
04-19-2007, 04:48 AM
They're expensive, and if I was going to get any kind of machine, it'd be either a treadmill or an ellipse trainer.

wonderlandwiggins
04-19-2007, 04:50 AM
its not a big expensive one i think they saw it on an infomercial

cabri
04-19-2007, 04:54 AM
Expensive is relative. Anything more than $100 would be too expensive for me right now. I need to get a new bed.

wonderlandwiggins
04-19-2007, 05:12 AM
i do too im too tall for mine.
ya know what else i wanna do get a's but im not going to in all my classes

cabri
04-19-2007, 05:18 AM
As long as you understand the material, that's okay. I could've passed this javascript class easily, but I really felt like I was missing some of the basic concepts. I would rather retake it, and hopefully they'll let me do that, but the stupid teacher still hasn't responded to the email about withdrawing that I sent him Monday before last.

wonderlandwiggins
04-19-2007, 05:34 AM
if they gave me the finl for half these classes at the beggining of the semester i could easily of passed them but the semester is just so long and the homework gets so repetetive

I need to start writing again on a regular basis. I have three novels I want to finish. The short story challenges we've been doing at BIFF are a step, but I don't really like writing short stories - not enough time for any decent character development.

Time's going to be in short supply over the next two months because of the charity screening, but then I need to buckle down and do some serious writing.

Kessie
04-19-2007, 11:50 AM
hm lets see... finish the Script so I can apply for the writers program again.
Another one would be getting my short movie produced.

@samatwitch: I hear you with the writing. I´m slacking as well ;) Maybe we should poke each other from time to time?

samatwitch

Sounds good, Kessie!

wonderlandwiggins

you two get to writing... always keep it on your mind so you can look for inspiration whereever you go write random things down maybe theyll help you later or at least remind you to get to wiriting

Thanks for the pep talk, Wiggs! My problem is I have so many ideas running around my head. ;-)

wonderlandwiggins
04-19-2007, 08:24 PM
well type them all in spereate places and then see which one you can keep going with...sometimes ill have dozens of ideas but once i get em onto paper half of them are ridiculous or i find theres not really anywhere i can take the story

samatwitch

I usually write longhand when I'm writing novels. Short stories I can compose on the computer. I have three chapters done of one novel, one of each of the other two, plus various other writings in folders in my filing cabinet. ;)

I need to start going to bed earlier. I need more sleep.

cabri
04-20-2007, 12:56 AM
I'm sorry, that's one goal for which I can offer neither support nor encouragement. :p But if you want to shorten your work hours, I can get behind that one. ;)

wonderlandwiggins
04-20-2007, 01:54 AM

wonderlandwiggins

samatwitch
04-21-2007, 04:03 PM
Good for you, Wiggs! I have tendonitis among other problems with my wrists so I had to give up taking piano after I completed my Grade IX exam. (When I was young I wanted to be a concert pianist but my hands are way too small. Even playing octaves for half an hour hurts.) I used to be able to play the first movement of the Moonlight Sonata, but haven't for quite awhile. I'll have to try again.

Okay, just played the first page and my hand and fingers hurt already. Plus my piano needs tuning. :(

Keep going, Wiggs, this is a beautiful piece of music as you know.

wonderlandwiggins
04-21-2007, 08:39 PM
i have to strach my fingers so far to play the left handed part... and i am left handed so my left hand plays th right handed part much easier

lilbird
04-22-2007, 05:07 AM
Keep goin' Wigs! :)

wonderlandwiggins
04-22-2007, 05:27 AM
but it hurts! i hate reading sheet music notes i wish they would write it somewhere just in letter names

lilbird
04-22-2007, 03:46 PM
You could rewrite it.

Now, doesn't reading the music seem easier than that?

Plus, I've been to bed early three nights in a row!

wonderlandwiggins
04-22-2007, 07:50 PM
lol ill try i wish they have left handed pianos

My current resolution is not to buy any more books unless I've finished reading one. Except for Whedonverse books (already on order). And Forever in Blue cuz I've just been waiting for it to come out in PB. :D

This will also cut down on my expensive twice-weekly coffee habit as I generally only get lattes when I go to the bookstore.

This also probably means no more new books for a while :( since I've been focused on watching Buffy/Angel during my free time instead of reading.

So the savings will definitely help The California Jar. :) If they don't go to the dentist jar first.

Psst. Cabri. They have these things called libraries where you can read books for free!

wonderlandwiggins

my goal is to not spend all my money during the summer... i know ill spend a lot... ill try and spend as little as possible in disneyland and even more so dont go buying everything at comic con

Psst. Cabri. They have these things called libraries where you can read books for free!
I have 6000 books here, most of which I haven't read -- the idea is to get them all read and hopefully get rid of the less outsitanding ones.

wonderlandwiggins
05-06-2007, 06:47 PM
so your house is like a library anyway

cabri

I'm still trying to get to bed earlier.

wonderlandwiggins

I need to clean my apartment.

And turn myself around so I'm used to getting up at the ungodly hour of 7am. *shudders*

I also need to finish my Stolen Lives firefly fanfic before I forget how the story goes.

It's not the end of the world if your permit expires, Wiggs. Mine expired in October 2005. *whistles*

I think Wiggs needs encouragement here!
Yeah, get your license. Getting the permit again is a bother - Much easier to just get the license. Then you can drive us all around San Diego! ;)

lilbird
01-13-2008, 05:46 PM
I agree. Just get it over with. Are you a good driver?

wonderlandwiggins
01-14-2008, 06:18 AM
