I thought I'd post this here to clue in newcomers and before the origins of the (admittedly bad) joke get lost in the mists of ancient Goners history.

On an entirely different board, Persephone Lily was talking about working in the packaging department of LL Bean and commented on how Canadians only ever ordered shirts, never pants. Someone (certainly not anybody on this board :rolleyes: ) naturally jumped up and said something along the lines of "Of course not! Everybody knows that Canadians don't wear pants!" GE enjoyed the joke (at first ;)) and it got imported to Goners since we were all going back and forth all the time. So, this is what we know:

The fact that Canadians are pants-less is an ancient Canadian secret.

Canadians have a secret sense that tells them when a non-Canadian is around so they can whip on a pair of pants to hide the truth.

If you go to Canada via the secret backroads that all Canadians know, you'll see piles and piles of pants just before the border-crossing.

You can't tell when Canadians are lying because they don't have pants to be on fire. :D
