Ok, we all talked about it, but no one did it, so....i'll start...

lilbird...I am making it my goal now to make you laugh every day....heh heh

mudblood...I am making it my goal now to come up with something that you actually write a response to rather than just hitting the rep button :P

greeneyes...you friggin' rock too

syren....stormchasing is 95 percent boredom, waiting on the hood of a car sunning yourself while you wait for the cap to bust...but it is 5 percent God touching the earth, so, that's pretty cool..

sandy...i always enjoy you too

tsmeltzer....you're funny as well, when you try to be, HA

Thanks, JJ!

so here are some of mine: I'll add (because I have a short attention span! and will probably forget half the people that I want to respond to) as I remember, so here goes.

JJ - you always make me laugh. Sometimes, you make me think as well. and you're always cool. Stay positive!

Sandyg - a lot of times I read your posts and think "Hey, I was thinking the same thing!" So a general "YEAH! What sandyg said!" goes out to you.

mudblood77 - thank you very much for your response. ;)

StevieB - balsamic dressing goes with everything. EVERYTHING. ;)

Cab - you make me laugh, all the time. I always look forward to reading your posts.

silvius - I freakin' LOVE Roswell. Just so's you know. Also, I really like reading your posts too. They are always so thoughtful - like you put a lot of time into your responses.

MelissaAnne - one thing, and one thing only. Pie. Yum. :)

kaos.....i hate texas too, but then, i'm from norman, so, it's in my blood.........as we say here, even texans bleed crimson

StevieB

Well, big thanks to those who have clicked to add to my rep, when I hit enough posts it might start showing up!
Some responses I have received don't show up in my profile now, so a response to those that do, and apologies to those who I miss! :o

JJNado (http://member.php?u=6) ok, i just can't do the dis . . . glad to hear it! ;)

cabr1729 (http://member.php?u=75) Oh my, you Brits look just like real people! . . . Looks can be decieving! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y113/MrStevieB/Animated2/icon_twisted.gif

hmm............got a gray box from stevie...lol......not that i expected something dif.......but if that was a prop, stevie, let us know, cuz then we know we only get green bar rep from people with 30 posts or more

lilbird
02-10-2006, 05:45 PM
I don't think grey box means disapproval. As you said, It just means the poster hasn't reached the 30 post mark. I think that was mentioned in the long explaination page. ;)

I've received a few greys, all from individuals who, at the time, had less than 30 posts.

jls730

Ohh... I think I'm starting to get this rep stuff now. Well, a little bit. ;)

Syren - Glad to be sharing the fun. Each one gets funnier as you go.

cabr1729 - Ha ha! Yes. And Hot Six, the corpse in the car in the garage. I almost died.

greeneyes - I know! Me too. I was so hoping that he'd be a real signer because he was so good.

Well, it won't be from me! I actually get the whole British sense of humor thing. I was TRYING to be dry and sarcastic... guess I need to work on that a little bit more :)

StevieB

Crap, I had a long post, everyone in it, I think anyway, and accidentally hit the back button on my mouse. Voila! All gone. Empty post when I went forward again. Sigh.

Sandyg, thank you! You rock!

Silvius, thanks, I like her, too.

Mudblood, Connie Ogle is cool, huh!

StevieB, sarcasm rules! LOL

Cab, Die Syren Die was my fave comment ever, so far! Cracked me up!

JJ, still want to stormchase, plus love your name now that I get it.

tsmeltzer, thanks for the approval.

jls730, glad you've joined in the fun around here!

greeneyes, MelissaAnne, and lilbird, always love your posts and comments.

That's all I can remember right now...seriously sorry if I forgot anyone!!!

mudblood...I am making it my goal now to come up with something that you actually write a response to rather than just hitting the rep button :P

JJNado: Like I said, it's all in the sig. ;) Working on my people skills, there JJ. Baby steps.

greeneyes: LOL persistent? I would have gone with obsessed!

Syren: Yeah! fellow HP fan!

Lilbird: You are truely one of the sweetest people on this board. You should visit the antisocial board more often. Never a dull moment over there. Poor Paradiso can't wait for this site to re-open it's registration. She keeps pouting she can't post in here!

Sandyg: True friend and fellow antisocial bastard. You don't have a mean bone in your body. You always have nice things to say. The cortex is my happy second home.

tsmeltzer: always there to support fellow goners. :)

js: I keep finding myself ordering everything you recommend. If you don't stop I'm gonna go broke.

Cab: you always make me laugh! My money is on you to get into that fraken Shadow's forum first! Plus your rep power  !!! Shall we dub you THE FIRST GONER now?;)

Silvius: I should have just turned the movie off! But I was frozen in fear and couldn't move even after the credits rolled! O.O

cabri

I hate the way you can only go back 6 posters on the control panel and the way the comments on the actual posts don't say who the poster is. So if I missed someone, blame vBulletin! (Hmm, maybe I'll start leaving my initials...)

holymother - it's not paranoia! Hey, if Joss doesn't get moving on WW, you might have to bequeath your waiting-for-Goners fanship to your kids!

lilbird - Okay, go ahead and explain the *thud*

mudblood77 - maybe if we pool our money together, we can get StevieB or tsmeltzer (whichever saw him fall out of his chair) to sneak the Gossi-cam into Gossi's coffee cup. Or tea mug. Or whatever those whingeing British people use.

JJ - Pirates and gondolas and swayage - oh my!

sandyg - aren't you ever grumbly?!

? (one of the guys?) - please only pile on when the post deserves it. But thanks!

silvius

Dear holymother:

I noticed you didn't deny anything.

lilbird
02-12-2006, 05:47 PM
JJ - hee hee, thanks for thinking of my needs. ;)

Mudblood, holymother, Suzdal - thanks, you make me smile. :) (those words are too simple and the smile should be :D )

sandyg - you always say the nicest things. :o Your comments like your posts are full of kindness and humor.

silvius - The first thing I thought when I read your comment about the pointyness of the signature was the description's similarity to certain aspects of the markings behind the logo on the main page. hmmm... unrelated, I know. Still, wouldn't that be wild if it was related.

I also wish there was a way to scroll back further through past comments. I still recall the many snort laughs and spit takes courtesy of greeneyes and cab even if the details of their comments are beyond my reach.

I wish we could scroll back farther, too. There were some comments I'd like to reply to, but of course, can't remember!

greeneyes--glad someone else saw what I did, or didn't see as may be more appropriate, in M. Ball! LOL
Underworld, we saw completely differently it appears.:)

MudBlood, me, too! I need to buy that DVD.

sandyg
02-13-2006, 10:04 AM
My response to the responses is going to be short by necessity...truth is, I always forget to look, and now I can't remember how to do it! (Something to do with the control panel?) :o

But (here's a surprise!) I do have something to say. There are not too many things about our lives that are really completely by choice: who we are, what we look like, our families, our jobs, our health...we do what we can with what we've got, I reckon.

But we can choose who we spend our free time with, and talk to, and enjoy. So when I come here, it's not only because I love Joss and am eager to hear about Goners (or anything else he may choose to do) and am determined to be there to cheer when Mudblood or Cabri or Lilbird or Syren find the password.

I come here because this is a really interesting group of people who are fun to be around, who have interesting and often funny things to say, and who are fun to spend time with. That said, how hard can it be to say nice things about the posts you enjoy, written by people you have come to regard as friends?

So, to everybody who said nice things about me in this thread, thanks.... :o
And right back atcha!

you type in the corresponding characters. so for :) you type : and ), for a wink, you type ; ) (but together, you understand), etc.

MelissaAnne - the car is in the garage of a house she broke into. It's stolen and the owner breaks into the house at the same time as Steph and Lula... she wants to take her car but has to remove the corpse first. I laughed 'till I cried.

Lilbird - So far it has been. I love to read and I love to organize... probably not the best thing that I found a site to feed my obsessions.

JJ - :D

greeneyes - go sens go! ;) And how awesome that we FINALLY missed the huge dumping of snow that went by.

TSmeltzer - I love COR too...maybe people just can't put up with the acting, it IS a little hollow. But, damn, the movie's pretty and the opening is pretty damned cool

jls: yes, of course, the allure of the bad boy. And what a hot bad boy! He reminds me of this guy I knew who actually was in the Rangers, tall, dark, woke up in the middle of the night screaming about the Viet Cong... Unfortunately, I wasn't the one with him when he did the waking-up-screaming thing.

Er, maybe that's 'fortunately' - after all, who needs the black eye?

But can you imagine Steph settling down with him? Can you imagine him settling down with anybody?

He's WAY too hot for diapers and tuna casserole. :D

LOL! No... not that I ever thought that far in advance (I'm pretty much stuck on RIP HIS CLOTHES OFF already), but you're right there's just no babies and casseroles in the Ranger profile. :)

It'd be like trying to walk a dog twice your size... you know where you get dragged down the road clinging to the leash? That'd be Stpeh trying to keep up with him. :D

Am feeling very cranky because the board won't let me give rep to anybody. In fact, my computer just blanked out totally, so I think Gossi has weapons we don't know about! Had to unplug, replug and reboot. Never mind, Gossi, you can slow us down, but we cannot be stopped!
Lilbird, you make me giggle too!
And so does Cabri.
Mud, can't give you any rep now, but I am so in awe of your persistence!
And JJ, this place just wouldn't be the same without you! Glad you appreciate snarky!

ts, MA-- I changed my mind about it every day. Plaza, Place, Plaza, Place. Ugh!

greeneyes--glad to make you laugh! :)

Mudblood--if only he'd grace us with his presence...

lilbird--it is an evil, mocking window. Probably has an evil laugh, too. Mwahahahaha! I keep my sound down, so I don't know for sure. :)

This might be OT but I can't stop thinking about that 'Plaze' sign. I even dreamed I drove past it last night! I must know which they were trying to say. Do you have any maps of the area which say the name of that Place/plaza/street?

Which are the best things on earth. I just liked saying Vancouver, and people would be "wow, thats so great"....Washington.

WE had a great time and stayed in some "lodge" themed hotel. I think that the best past was the day and a half hiding from the family. Also they had those crazy tempurpedic mattresses. Which are the best things on earth.
:D
MelissaAnne - sounds like you stayed at the Heathman Lodge (http://heathmanlodge.com/index.html). It's supposed to be really nice. I've only been there for lunch a couple of times, but if you're gonna have a celebratory getaway in Vancouver, that'd be the place. :)

I just liked saying Vancouver, and people would be "wow, thats so great"....Washington.
Heehee - yeah, get that ALL the time! Even when you get to the 'Washington' part, most people still think it's right across the border from the Canadian city.

In a nice way, Cabri. Just ask Sandyg ;)

Absolutely meant in the nicest possible way, Cabri! Around the AntiSocial Bastards forum, it's almost considered a compliment, especially if you're really good at it! And I say this as one of the members who was given the rank of SpamLord by the Cortex Admin. (He changed it back later, though!) ;)

Diso, you do keep things lively!
And Cabri...the llama comes from the old UB, when a lot of us were fussing about the artwork on the Serenity DVD package, which had all kinds of things unrelated to the movie on it. Including what many of us felt were zombies, rather than Reavers. And a llama. Which, of course, started the legendary llama of the browncoats. We even had DVD cover artwork starring the llama. Somewhere on The Cortex we have a link to the LLama Song. I'll see if I can find it for you and post it later. :)
