I love NCIS. It's much more about character development than "crime of the week" than it seems at first. I love Abby. She is the perfect woman. Smart and fun, and the happy goth.

I had a NCIS dream recently, was very odd.

I really wouldn't know what to do if they killed off Abby, I was pretty devastated at the end of season 2 with the way it ended (sorry don't want to say and can't do spoiler tags yet ;))

As much as Abby seems like a background character, I doubt the show could go on without her. She is the goddess of life and humour in the show. She is the "Kaylee" to Jethro Gibbs' "Mal". Plus, I think I might be crazy for her. The fact that she visited/or worked at the bar my brother worked in NYC and he failed to introduce us is just more poop on the cake. ;)
The Shock at the end of season 2 was a big one, but I enjoy where they went with it. I like things better now over then. I just can't imagine another change to the core going so well. Last season's change was really not a big deal to me. I appreciate it's effect on the core, but it didn't effect me.

The NCIS director has changed a few times too, I'm glad the replacements have seamed to fit in well, although I can't imagine the show without 3 main players - Gibbs, Abby & Ducky - I would miss the others too but feel these 3 are the main reasons for watching the show (for me anyway)

The only resevervation I have about this show is that the DVDs are so expensive and I have to hunt down the DVDs on eBay (here in UK they are £49.99 GBP (about $95 USD) retail but can find them for under £18 GBP from time to time on-line)

Gibbs and Abby are definitely core. I love Ducky. However, I could see him replaced before Anthony DiNozzo or Timothy McGee. Plus... Ziva David.....amazing character. If anyone was going to go away soon, I vote for Jimmy Palmer. Good character, but still the most disposable.
